Installation Instructions

Due to varying QC standards across camera brands, even models of the same brand may have manufacturing tolerances. If the internal filter frame doesn’t fit properly, please contact STC support or headquarters. Do not force installation.

STC’s Clip-in filters are innovative and rely on the camera’s internal structure for stability. Minor marks from installation may occur but do not affect camera functionality or warranty. STC will not cover these marks or offer compensation. Please consider this before purchasing if reselling your camera is a concern.

NOTE: STC’s IR filter series is intended for use with modified cameras.  With Canon APS-C camera, this clip filter can only be used on Canon EF Lenses. Canon EOS M systems require an EF-EOS M adapter to use our clip filters. As each native or third party manufacturer lens design is different, blurring around the edges may occur with some fisheye or super wide-angle lenses. This is normal. After you mount the clip filter, autofocus for you camera will automatically adjust to the change in optical axis. As each camera has fine tolerances, please contact STC for support.  If you encounter difficulty installing the clip filter, do not force the frame into place. Blackmagic Design Users Note: When you receive the filter it will be labelled as Canon APS-C, but it will work on your respective cameras!
